Mr. Real’s Legbegbe, which is believed by many to be filmmaker, Seun Egbegbe’s fraud story has been rooted for clarity.
Egbegbe was arraigned in court last year after he was alleged to have stolen several Iphones at a shop in Ikeja, Lagos. It is also believed that he is still in prison.
However, in a chat with Mr. Real’s manager, Abayomi Obadimeji, he said the song wasn’t inspired by Egbegbe. He said, “When Mr. Real was recording the song, he never thought of Seun Egbegbe. I will rather say nothing on it. Even if you talk to Mr. Real himself, he will ignore the question.”According to the manager, Mr. Real knew from the outset that the song would make a huge impact in the music industry. He said, “Mr. Real has been in the industry since 2007 as a producer and as an artiste. When the inspiration for the song came, he put all his energy into it because he knew it would be a big song.”
On why it took a while to release the video for the song, Obadimeji said, “We were only waiting for the right time and we wanted the song to circulate first before putting out a video.”
