Lupita Nyong’o slayed in white while attending the WSJ. Magazine 2018 Innovator Awards. The Black Panther star also took to the stage to speak at the event, which was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Wednesday night.
Nyong’o was also pictured on the red carpet with one of the evening’s six honorees, her Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. CarterNyong’o, 35, was wearing a stunning white suit ensemble, with pants that completely covered her feet.
She was also wearing diamond earrings with a number of diamond necklaces dangling from her neck.She was also seen holding a small handbag on the red carpet before the show kicked off.
Nyong’o was showing her support for Carter at the ceremony, after she designed the costumes for her character Nakia in the Marvel blockbuster Black Panther.
‘My first reaction to being asked to do Black Panther was sheer panic,’ Carter said in an interview with WSJ. Magazine.
‘Wakanda had not been affected by colonization. You take in African fabric brought in from the Dutch, so maybe we have to dig a little bit deeper,’ she added.
